RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has issued a stern warning against any attempts to undermine the country’s sovereignty, stating that any violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity will be met with a “harsh and decisive” response.
Addressing the participants of the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan, the Field Marshal highlighted that the state is fully aware of the challenges posed by foreign-sponsored proxies. According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he specifically pointed toward Indian-sponsored proxies for orchestrating violence and spreading propaganda to destabilize the province of Balochistan.
”The armed forces of Pakistan are committed to safeguarding the lives and property of our citizens,” Field Marshal Munir stated. He added that these proxies are deliberately attempting to disrupt the ongoing development and prosperity in Balochistan, but their nefarious designs will be effectively neutralized through rigorous operations by the security forces.
The Field Marshal emphasized the strategic importance of Balochistan to Pakistan’s future. He lauded the resilience and patriotism of the local population, noting that their support is vital in the fight against terrorism. He also highlighted that federal and provincial governments are executing people-centric development projects aimed at long-term socio-economic growth.
Furthermore, he urged the rejection of individual political agendas that conflict with national interests, stressing that the role of civil society is crucial in exposing foreign-funded propaganda.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where Field Marshal Munir reiterated that the Pakistan Army remains steadfast in its mission to rid the province of unrest and ensure a secure environment for all citizens.
