LAHORE — Provincial Health Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, visited Nawalkha Presbyterian Church to celebrate Christmas and inaugurate a family fair. Minister Rafique visited various stalls and cut the New Year cake alongside church officials, including Reverend Dr. Majeed Abel, Tahir Chaudhry, Javed Khan, and Immanuel Pervez.
Addressing the gathering, Khawaja Salman Rafique reaffirmed that all minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal and fundamental rights. He stated that, following the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government actively participates in the joys of the Christian community. He praised the hard work of all concerned departments for ensuring that the Christmas festival passed peacefully, emphasizing that Pakistan is a country where everyone shares in its citizens’ joys and sorrows. He further highlighted the government’s efforts to promote interfaith unity across Punjab.
Reverend Dr. Majeed Abel expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the provincial cabinet for ensuring a peaceful celebration, adding that the Punjab government demonstrates genuine care for minority communities.
