LAHORE — The Lahore Police have intensified operations against gambling across the city during 2025, resulting in the arrest of more than 3,800 suspects and the registration of 959 cases related to gambling activities. Authorities also recovered over Rs179.49 million in stake money from the arrested individuals.
According to a spokesperson, the divisional breakdown of arrests includes:
City Division: 299 suspects
Cantonment: 144 suspects
Civil Lines: 125 suspects
Saddar Division: 71 suspects
Iqbal Town: 188 suspects
Model Town: 90 suspects
CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana stated that indiscriminate action is being taken against all individuals involved in the social evil of gambling. He warned that networks engaged in online gambling are being closely monitored and dealt with “with an iron hand.”
He further emphasized that authorities will take strict action against anyone involving young people in gambling and noted that modern technology is being employed to enhance surveillance of online gambling activities.
The CCPO reiterated that sustained action will continue at all levels to eradicate gambling from the city and called on citizens to cooperate with the police in building a safe and crime-free society.
