LAHORE: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) achieved a recovery of Rs310 million during 2025 and implemented wide-ranging urban development and governance reforms, according to an official handout issued on the directions of Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal.
The handout highlighted the FDA’s overall performance during the year, noting significant progress in urban development, infrastructure, environmental protection, public facilities, financial discipline, and digital transformation.
According to the document, the FDA successfully completed 36 annual development projects with 100 percent completion. Full digitization of property records under the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) system ensured greater transparency in ownership. Through the online system, Rs485.8 million was deposited into the national exchequer via 9,685 Payment Slip IDs (PSIDs).
As a result of GIS-based surveys of commercial roads, the authority recovered Rs310 million from defaulters. In addition, approximately Rs150 million in extra revenue was generated through the sale of government utility sites.
On the environmental front, 20,000 saplings were planted under the Clean and Green Punjab campaign. The handout also stated that G2P and G2G online payment systems were effectively implemented to enhance public facilitation and transparency. All received applications were processed within stipulated timelines, reducing pending cases to zero.
Complete records of approved and illegal housing schemes were uploaded on the FDA website to ensure public awareness and accountability. The authority also continued operations against illegal housing schemes through demolitions and legal action, while strictly enforcing building and zoning regulations to promote planned urban development.
For sports and recreational facilities, the expansion and upgradation of the FDA Sports Complex were completed. The Jhumra Road exit ramp at the Abdullahpur Flyover was also completed and opened to traffic, while long-standing electricity issues were resolved by ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
Following the completion of the DPS campus in FDA City, the academic session was formally launched. To promote renewable energy, the FDA head office was solarized. Measures for financial discipline included a reduction in institutional expenditures and effective restructuring of human resources.
Anti-encroachment operations continued in line with government directives to clear the city of illegal encroachments. The authority also successfully hosted events such as the Kashmir Kabaddi Cup and the PakWheels Auto Show in FDA City.
The handout concluded that, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, uniform and equitable implementation of development projects is being ensured across all districts to provide improved facilities and a higher-quality urban environment for the public.
