LAHORE: Restoration work on parks in Lahore has commenced following the completion of underground water tanks, marking progress on a key initiative promised by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. Punjab Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin, accompanied by Managing Director PHA Lahore Raja Mansoor, visited several inner-city parks to review the ongoing work.
During the visit, the Project Director of PHA briefed the minister on the restoration plans for Karim Park and Gol Ground Park. The delegation also inspected Nehru Park, WAPDA Ground, and grounds adjacent to Mian Munshi Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bilal Yasin said that, under the Chief Minister’s directives, parks will be upgraded with modern amenities including state-of-the-art lighting, open gyms, jogging tracks, and a variety of flowers. He added that sports grounds will also be developed with floodlights, pitches, and courts to promote sports and recreational activities.
“The Punjab Government is prioritizing the provision of modern sports, recreation, and leisure facilities for the youth,” he said.
MD PHA Lahore Raja Mansoor stated that after the construction of underground water tanks, all parks will be restored with contemporary facilities. In addition to flowers, colorful lights and decorative structures are being installed across the city to enhance the aesthetic appeal of parks and provide a pleasant environment for citizens.
