The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has taken strict administrative action following the illegal cutting of a tree branch on Canal Road, in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for environmental protection.
Managing Director PHA Lahore, Raja Mansoor Ahmed, removed the concerned Project Director and suspended three officials, including a supervisor, for violating established rules and procedures. The action came after PHA staff cut a tree branch near an underpass without following the prescribed legal process.
Following an inquiry, Director Horticulture Javed Ahmed was relieved of the additional charge of Project Director Canal, while Waqar Rehman, Project Director Jilani Park, was assigned the role. Suspended staff include Supervisor LBC Zafar Iqbal, along with Muzammil and Aqeel Hussain. A formal notification regarding the suspensions has been issued.
Raja Mansoor Ahmed emphasized that PHA Lahore is committed to creating a greener and more beautiful city and warned that negligence or violations of environmental protection rules will not be tolerated.
