Germany’s industrial production has shown a surprising improvement, with the automotive industry demonstrating remarkable performance.
In November 2025, Germany’s industrial production increased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous month, marking the third consecutive monthly improvement. This increase exceeded analysts’ expectations, who had predicted a decline.
The primary driver of positive growth in November was a significant increase in the automotive industry, which recorded a 7.8 percent rise compared to the previous month. Machinery and equipment manufacturing increased by 3.2 percent, while machine maintenance and assembly saw a 10.5 percent increase.
However, the overall situation for the first eleven months of 2025 remained mixed. From January to November, industrial production declined by 1.2 percent on an annual basis, while the automotive sector saw a 2.4 percent decrease and machinery production fell by 2.3 percent.
Economic experts say that German industry reached a turning point at the end of 2025, and there is hope that this trend will bring the entire economy back toward growth this year. According to the ifo Institute report, the business climate in the automotive industry improved slightly in December 2025.
Analysts say these figures are encouraging, but more comprehensive measures will be needed for sustainable recovery.
