Islamabad: A defence delegation led by Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, called on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, at Air Headquarters, following the recent state visit of the Indonesian President.
The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Indonesia, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral air force cooperation, particularly in capacity building, training, and technological collaboration.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu briefed the visiting delegation on the PAF’s ongoing modernization drive, highlighting infrastructure development, revamped training regimes, and the induction of niche capabilities aimed at enhancing readiness for multi-domain operations.
The Indonesian Defence Minister lauded the PAF’s professionalism, combat readiness, and achievements in indigenization, especially under the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park. He also expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation in training, aviation, and aerospace sectors.
The engagement underscored the growing momentum in Pakistan–Indonesia defence relations and reflected a shared resolve to further deepen cooperation through sustained dialogue and collaboration.
