Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to formalize a pre-immigration clearance arrangement for Pakistani citizens traveling to the UAE, a move aimed at easing travel and eliminating lengthy immigration procedures upon arrival.
According to the Ministry of Interior, once the agreement is signed, Pakistani passengers will no longer be required to undergo extended immigration checks after landing in the UAE.
The decision was taken during a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a UAE delegation led by Director General Customs and Port Security Ahmed bin Lahej Al Falasi.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that under the proposed arrangement, immigration clearance for Pakistani travelers would be completed in Pakistan prior to departure, significantly reducing waiting times and improving passenger convenience at UAE airports.
The initiative is expected to facilitate smoother travel, enhance bilateral cooperation, and provide major relief to thousands of Pakistani passengers traveling to the UAE each year.
