Islamabad (Staff Reporter) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif contacted Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah via telephone regarding the tragic fire incident at Gul Plaza in Karachi and expressed deep grief over the loss of lives.
During the telephone conversation, the Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of Sindh that the federal government is ready to provide all kinds of assistance to the provincial government. He said that in this difficult time, the federal government stands with the victims and the Sindh government.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that in this hour of grief and distress, we stand with the victims and the Sindh government. He prayed for the affected families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
It is noteworthy that yesterday the Prime Minister took immediate notice of the fire at Gul Plaza Karachi and directed federal agencies to provide complete assistance to the Sindh government.
The Prime Minister further said that a coordinated and effective system is extremely necessary to timely control fires in densely populated urban areas. He said that the federation is ready to provide all kinds of assistance to the provincial government in establishing a comprehensive system to prevent such incidents in the future.
The Prime Minister also said that ensuring safe building codes and fire safety systems should be the government’s top priority so that such tragic incidents can be prevented in the future.
