Shaban Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan, Date of Shab-e-Barat Announced

Islamabad: The moon of Shaban-ul-Moazzam was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday.
According to the official statement, the first day of Shaban 1447 AH will fall on Wednesday, January 21, while Shab-e-Barat will be observed on the evening of Tuesday, February 3.
The meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was chaired by Chairman Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad. Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meetings were also held simultaneously in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
Officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs coordinated the proceedings, while technical assistance was provided by experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, SUPARCO, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Addressing the meeting, Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad said that weather conditions remained cloudy in most parts of the country, while some areas experienced clear skies. However, no authenticated testimony of moon sighting was received from any part of Pakistan.
As a result, it was formally declared that the moon of Shaban was not sighted and the new month will begin on Wednesday.
