Noshehra: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has announced he will visit Adiala Jail on Thursday, criticizing the denial of meetings with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife.
Addressing participants of the street movement rally in Tarujaba area of Noshehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said this movement is an organized, peaceful, and constitutional struggle against fascism, with no room for any kind of violence or disorder.
He stated that their leadership has trained them in peaceful political struggle, and they are fully committed to it, which is why not even a flowerpot was broken during the entire movement. The Chief Minister emphasized that they were peaceful, are peaceful, and will remain peaceful because Pakistan’s Constitution grants them the right to peaceful protest, and they will exercise this constitutional right in every circumstance.
He clarified that the street movement will be brought to its peak by February 8, with the aim of organizing and strengthening the public voice for the release of their unjustly imprisoned leader, while the future course of action will also be announced at this stage.
The announcement comes amid ongoing political tensions and restrictions on access to the imprisoned PTI leader. The Chief Minister’s planned visit appears to be both a show of political solidarity and a challenge to the authorities controlling access to the former prime minister.
Political observers note that the movement’s emphasis on constitutional methods and peaceful protest represents an attempt to maintain moral high ground while building pressure for Khan’s release. The February 8 deadline mentioned by the Chief Minister adds a specific timeframe to the party’s mobilization efforts.
