LAHORE: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Communication & Works, Sohaib Ahmad Bharth, to review the ongoing beautification and rehabilitation work on Lahore’s Ring Road.
The meeting included a detailed assessment of asphalt repair work, installation of street lights, wall paintings, restoration of toll plazas, and decorative paint artwork. It was attended by Secretary C&W Suhail Ashraf, the Additional Secretary of the Ring Road Authority, officials from the Federal Directorate of Works, and other senior officers of relevant departments.
During the briefing, the Provincial Minister was informed about the progress achieved so far. Mr. Sohaib Ahmad Bharth stated that all toll plazas on Ring Road will be upgraded and beautified to state-of-the-art standards to create a visually appealing environment for commuters and tourists alike. He appreciated the ongoing painting work on the outer walls of villages along the service roads, adding that artistic murals near toll plazas would further enhance the road’s aesthetic appeal.
The Minister also noted that asphalt rehabilitation in damaged sections is progressing at a rapid pace, while plantation and landscaping efforts along the road are being carried out steadily. He emphasized that these initiatives align with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, to transform Ring Road into a model roadway.
Mr. Sohaib Ahmad Bharth added that continuous improvements are being made to upgrade Ring Road’s infrastructure and appearance, describing the project as a significant step towards providing the public with modern, safe, and aesthetically pleasing travel facilities.
