BRUSSELS (News Agencies) According to a survey conducted in seven European Union countries, half of Europeans consider US President Donald Trump an “enemy of Europe.”
The survey published on Friday shows that 51 percent of people describe Trump as an “enemy of Europe,” while only eight percent consider him a “friend of Europe.” These opinions were collected from over one thousand people in each country including France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Poland.
An additional 39 percent say Trump is “neither friend nor enemy.” The poll was conducted between January 13 and 19, after which Trump’s threats to seize Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, raised concerns.
The number of Danes considering Trump an “enemy” was particularly high, with 58 percent describing him as Europe’s enemy.
Across all seven countries, 44 percent said Trump “behaves like a dictator,” while another 44 percent believe he has “dictatorial tendencies.” Only 10 percent believe “he respects democratic principles.”
