Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi has strongly condemned the treatment he and his team received over the past two days, describing the situation as unacceptable and expressing anger during remarks to the media outside the Supreme Court.
Afridi said that the provincial chief minister and his delegation were forced to remain on the streets for two nights, staying at Adiala Jail until 3 a.m. and outside the Supreme Court from 10 a.m. onward. He described the situation as extraordinary and concerning.
He accused authorities of neglecting the health of PTI founder, whom he described as the country’s most popular political leader, noting that he was taken to a hospital lacking the necessary specialists for his condition. Afridi said their primary demand is that the founder’s personal doctors be allowed to meet him.
Afridi emphasized that while his party operates within constitutional limits and believes in dialogue, blocking all avenues leaves them with the right to peaceful protest. He added that authorities had denied their request for a meeting with doctors, and the next course of action will be decided in a political committee meeting.
The KP Chief Minister reiterated his strong condemnation and anger over the events of the past two days.
