LAHORE: Director General Food Punjab, Amjad Hafeez, said authorities are continuing efforts to ensure an adequate and uninterrupted supply of flour across the province.
In a statement, he said the Punjab Food Department has released flour distribution figures for the last 24 hours, reflecting steady supplies to markets in all divisions of Punjab.
According to official data, a total of 968,000 flour bags were supplied across the province during the period. In Lahore Division, 179,000 bags of 10 kilograms and 92,182 bags of 20 kilograms were delivered to the market. Rawalpindi Division received 61,700 bags of 10 kilograms and 3,000 bags of 20 kilograms.
In Multan Division, 61,000 bags of 10 kilograms and 11,000 bags of 20 kilograms were supplied, while flour mills in Gujranwala Division released a total of 100,000 flour bags. In Faisalabad Division, 154,000 bags of 10 kilograms and 2,054 bags of 20 kilograms were delivered.
Amjad Hafeez said government-subsidized flour is currently being provided through 9,831 registered shops and 1,549 designated sale points across Punjab.
He emphasized that ensuring the availability of affordable and quality flour for the public remains a top priority of the provincial government, adding that any attempt to disrupt supply through hoarding or profiteering would not be tolerated.
