RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will visit Pakistan soon, with agreements expected in eight sectors including information technology, agriculture, and textiles, Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia said.
Ambassador Ahmad Farooq told a briefing that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are enhancing cooperation in defense and other sectors, with the crown prince’s visit set to deepen bilateral ties.
“Agreements will be finalized in eight sectors between the two countries, including information technology, agriculture, and textiles,” Farooq said.
The ambassador added that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are expanding cooperation with each other in defense affairs and other areas.
The announcement comes as both countries work to strengthen their strategic partnership, which has historically been close due to religious, cultural, and economic ties.
Saudi Arabia has been a key supporter of Pakistan’s economy, providing financial assistance during difficult periods and offering preferential oil supply arrangements.
Pakistan has consistently supported Saudi Arabia on regional issues and maintains strong defense cooperation, including military training exchanges and joint exercises.
The crown prince’s visit is expected to result in significant investment commitments and expanded trade relations between the two countries.
Details about the specific timing of the visit and the nature of the eight sectoral agreements were not immediately disclosed.
Pakistan has been actively seeking foreign investment to boost its economy, with Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia among its priority partners for economic cooperation.
