ISLAMABAD – The death toll from the blast in the federal capital has increased, prompting authorities to impose emergency in all federal hospitals following directives from the Health Minister.
According to officials, the number of casualties continues to rise, leading to immediate measures in the healthcare sector. All doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff at PIMS, Polyclinic, and other federal medical facilities have had their leaves cancelled.
Operation theaters in hospitals have been made functional round the clock with special arrangements for treating the injured. Blood banks have been put on high alert and appeals have been made to the public for blood donations.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health stated that all medical staff has been called to duty and complete preparations are in place to handle any emergency situation. The government has assured that all resources will be utilized for treating the injured.
Security agencies have tightened security arrangements around hospitals and special desks have been established to facilitate the victims’ families.
