Expresses national pride in martyr’s sacrifice; assures full support to bereaved family
Landi Kotal/Peshawar, February 7, 2026 — Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber District today to offer condolences to the family of Captain Abbas Khan, who was martyred during a recent security operation in the Tirah Valley.
Accompanied by Inspector General Frontier Corps North Imran Taj and Deputy Commissioner Khyber Shahid Iqbal, the minister went to the martyr’s residence in Kundu Khel, where he met Captain Abbas Khan’s father, brothers, and other family members.
Minister Naqvi expressed deep sympathy, recited Fateha for the departed soul, and stated:
“Captain Abbas Khan’s sacrifice is a source of pride for the entire nation. The sacrifices of those who lay down their lives in defence of the motherland will never be forgotten.”
He conveyed the government’s full solidarity with the bereaved family and assured them of every possible support and assistance.
Captain Abbas Khan was killed three days ago when a projectile fired from a helicopter drone exploded during an ongoing military operation against militants in the Tirah Valley. The incident occurred amid intensified counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
The visit underscores the government’s public commitment to honouring security personnel martyred in the line of duty and supporting their families.
