Kurram, February 9, 2026 — At least three people, including a father and his son, were shot dead in a targeted attack in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a long-standing tribal/enmity dispute. Unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in a village, killing three individuals on the spot. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital but were pronounced dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as:
An elderly man (the father)
His adult son
A third relative or associate
Police officials confirmed that the shooting was the result of a pre-existing feud between two rival groups. Cases related to the same enmity have been registered in the past.
Following the incident, heavy contingents of police and levies have been deployed in the area to prevent retaliatory violence. An FIR has been registered and a search operation is underway to apprehend the attackers.
Local sources report that the feud — reportedly linked to land disputes and family rivalries — has claimed multiple lives over the years and remains a major source of tension in the region.
