LAHORE: On the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, weekly general parades were conducted across the province, including the provincial capital Lahore.
Senior police officers inspected the parades, while participating contingents presented a smart salute. Personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, Security Police Unit (SPU), Women Police, Investigation Wing, and Operations Wing of police stations actively participated.
A Punjab Police spokesperson stated that during the parade, senior officers reviewed the turnout, uniform, and overall turnout of the participating officers and personnel. Smartly turned-out contingents performed an impressive march-past, with women police personnel also taking part in significant numbers.
The spokesperson added that these general parades are being held regularly every Monday throughout the province. On this occasion, district police officers also inspected the armoury (Kot), Motor Transport Wing, miscellaneous stores, uniform warehouses, and other relevant sections.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem emphasized that the primary purpose of these general parades is to keep police personnel alert at all times and to strengthen discipline, unity, and esprit de corps among the force. He described the parade as the best reflection of any force’s discipline, history, heritage, and traditions.
He further noted that regular parades help officers and personnel maintain peak physical fitness, which directly contributes to improved overall performance of the Punjab Police.
These weekly general parades continue to serve as an important mechanism for maintaining professionalism, readiness, and high standards within the Punjab Police.
