Peshawar, February 10, 2026 – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has clarified that Pakistan’s entire stance was taken solely to uphold the dignity of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and to rectify the perceived injustice done to them.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, he stated:
“Our only goal was to bring respect and honour to Bangladesh. We did not place any condition except those concerning Bangladesh. There was no personal agenda — this entire effort was made for Bangladesh. All the demands raised by Bangladesh have been accepted.”
Naqvi added that Pakistan had consistently highlighted the unfair treatment of Bangladesh during discussions with the ICC and BCB, which ultimately led to a favourable outcome.
Notably, just yesterday, the Government of Pakistan — following a request from the President of Sri Lanka and subsequent developments — granted approval for the national team to participate in their scheduled T20 World Cup 2026 match against India on February 15.
The breakthrough came after extended negotiations held in Lahore involving the ICC, PCB, and BCB, during which Bangladesh’s key grievances were addressed and their principal demands met.
