Peshawar:
The federal government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have reached a consensus on counter-terrorism measures, following a high-level meeting at Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Interior Minister, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the National Security Adviser, the Corps Commander Peshawar, and senior civil and military officials.
Discussions focused on the security situation, counter-terrorism strategy, and enhanced coordination among institutions. It was decided that a special security model led by police and other provincial institutions would be implemented in the Malakand Division as a pilot initiative.
Officials said the model could later be expanded to other parts of the province, reaffirming a joint federal-provincial resolve to eliminate terrorism.
