Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated today at Pakistan House in Berlin with a flag-raising ceremony. The event began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national flag being hoisted to the tune of the national anthem by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Ms. Saqlain Syeda. A large gathering of Pakistani expatriates, diplomats, local German residents, and friends of Pakistan attended the ceremony.

In her address, Ambassador Syeda emphasized that on Independence Day, pakistanis should rise above differences and reaffirm their commitment to serving the homeland, just as the nation had struggled for a separate homeland in history. She highlighted recent successes against acts of aggression and stressed that such events remind the nation of its responsibility to make Pakistan a better, peaceful, and prosperous place for future generations.
The ambassador expressed confidence that following the golden principles of Quaid-e-Azam—unity, faith, and discipline—would enable the nation to overcome the challenges it faces. She also praised the Pakistani diaspora for their efforts in safeguarding national interests during recent tensions and urged the community to remain steadfast, setting aside political, ethnic, and social differences to stay united.
The event witnessed significant participation from Pakistani expatriates, diplomats, local Germans, and friends of Pakistan.
