Islamabad – In anticipation of the PTI-led opposition alliance’s protest, authorities have sealed all routes leading to Parliament House, with even members of the assembly being prevented from entering the premises.
According to sources, the main gates of Parliament House have been closed in view of the opposition alliance’s planned demonstration. Heavy security arrangements have been put in place to prevent any untoward incident.
A large contingent of police has been deployed both inside and outside Parliament House to maintain law and order. The security forces have established multiple checkpoints on all routes leading to the parliament building, creating a tight cordon around the area.
Members of the National Assembly and Senate attempting to reach Parliament House have also been stopped at various checkpoints, causing disruption to normal parliamentary proceedings. The strict security measures have effectively restricted access to the parliament building for both lawmakers and the general public.
The opposition alliance had announced plans to stage a protest demonstration, prompting the government to implement stringent security measures. The blockade of routes and restriction on movement has raised questions about access to parliament for elected representatives.
Officials stated that the security arrangements were necessary to maintain order and prevent any potential law and order situation arising from the planned protest.
