Islamabad – A resolution regarding the health condition of PTI founder Imran Khan was rejected in the Senate, triggering a strong protest from the opposition benches.
The resolution, which sought to address concerns about the medical treatment and health facilities being provided to the incarcerated PTI founder, was voted down by the government’s majority in the upper house of parliament. The rejection led to immediate and vocal protests from opposition senators.
Responding to the concerns raised in the resolution, Punjab Chief Minister and senior government leader Rana Sanaullah stated that the PTI founder receives regular medical attention while in custody. “The jail doctor examines the PTI founder every other day,” Rana Sanaullah told the Senate, seeking to assure lawmakers that adequate medical care is being provided.
Despite these assurances, opposition members expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response and the rejection of the resolution. Opposition senators raised slogans and voiced their concerns about the treatment of the former Prime Minister in detention.
The opposition has been consistently raising questions about Imran Khan’s health conditions, particularly following reports of deteriorating eye condition and other medical issues. They have demanded that he be provided with specialized medical treatment and access to doctors of his choice.
The heated debate in the Senate reflects the ongoing political tensions between the government and opposition over the treatment of the PTI founder during his incarceration.
