Islamabad – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram has warned that the party may announce a call for a march towards Islamabad at any time, amid growing concerns over party founder Imran Khan’s health condition.
Speaking to the media, the PTI Central Secretary General stated that the nation is deeply worried and filled with protest following Salman Safdar’s report regarding Imran Khan’s health. “The nation is concerned and standing in protest after Salman Safdar’s report about Imran Khan’s health,” Sheikh Waqas emphasized.
The PTI leader’s statement suggests that the party is considering mobilizing its supporters for another large-scale protest march to the federal capital. Such a call could lead to a major confrontation between the party workers and law enforcement agencies, similar to previous protest movements.
Sheikh Waqas indicated that the party leadership is closely monitoring the situation and may decide to issue a call for a march depending on developments regarding Imran Khan’s health and treatment in custody. The timing and nature of any such announcement would be determined by the party’s core leadership.
The warning comes amid heightened political tensions, with PTI continuing to press for better treatment and medical facilities for its incarcerated founder. The party has been vocal about what it describes as inadequate healthcare provision for Imran Khan while he remains in detention.
Security agencies and the government are likely to be on high alert following this announcement, as any large-scale mobilization by PTI could pose significant law and order challenges in the capital.
