Peshawar – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has warned that the treatment being meted out to PTI founder Imran Khan will fuel hatred and resentment, which may eventually become uncontrollable.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister expressed serious concerns about the ongoing situation and the handling of the former Prime Minister while in detention. “The treatment being given to Imran Khan will increase hatred, and then there will be no one to control it,” Sohail Afridi cautioned, warning of potential consequences.
The KP Chief Minister also strongly condemned incidents of violence against provincial government ministers, stating that such behavior is unacceptable. “Our ministers’ collars were grabbed, their clothes were torn. This behavior is not correct,” he stated, highlighting what he described as inappropriate actions against elected representatives.
Sohail Afridi’s statement reflects the growing frustration within PTI ranks over what they perceive as unfair treatment of their leadership. The party has been consistently raising concerns about the conditions of detention and the legal proceedings against Imran Khan.
The Chief Minister’s warning suggests that the provincial leadership believes the current approach could lead to further polarization and public anger. His comments come amid ongoing tensions between the federal government and PTI-led provincial administration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The KP government has been at the forefront of advocating for better treatment and medical care for the incarcerated PTI founder.
