LAHORE, Feb 13 — Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana on Friday paid tribute to DIG Capt (retd) Syed Ahmed Mubeen Shaheed on the ninth anniversary of the Charing Cross terrorist attack, stating that the sacrifices of the martyrs would forever remain a guiding light for the nation.
The CCPO visited the grave of the martyred officer, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha. Family members of the late officer, DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, CTO Lahore Athar Waheed and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
DIG Capt (retd) Ahmed Mubeen and SSP Zahid Mahmood Gondal were martyred in the February 13, 2017 terrorist attack at Faisal Chowk, commonly known as Charing Cross, on Mall Road. ASI Muhammad Amin, Head Constable Ismatullah and Constable Nadeem Tanveer also embraced martyrdom in the incident.
Paying homage, the CCPO described Ahmed Mubeen as a highly professional and courageous officer whose services to the police department remain unforgettable. He noted that 343 Lahore police personnel have laid down their lives in the line of duty for the protection of the homeland and the maintenance of peace.
Reaffirming his resolve, Bilal Kamyana said the mission of the martyrs — safeguarding the country and ensuring lasting peace — would continue at all costs.
