The University of the Punjab (PU) concluded its National Outreach Program for Faculty (NOPF) and National Outreach Program for Management (NOPM) with a joint closing ceremony at the Institute of Administrative Sciences. The programs, supported by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) under the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, aimed to enhance professional skills and foster leadership among university personnel.
The ceremony was attended by PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, NAHE Managing Director Dr Noor Amna Malik, Training Coordinator Dr Sania Malik, President of the Academic Staff Association Dr Amjad Magsi, faculty members and administrative staff.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali described the programs as an exceptional platform for participants to realize their potential, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, a positive mindset, and leveraging individual strengths. Drawing on the inclusive principles of Sufism, he urged participants to embrace equality and mutual respect in their professional conduct.
Dr. Noor Amna Malik led an interactive session with participants of the Management Officers Training Program, which attendees described as engaging and intellectually stimulating. She lauded the Vice Chancellor’s leadership, encouraged alignment with the University’s vision, and stressed the importance of cascading the learning to colleagues in their respective departments. Dr. Malik also announced that participants may be considered for future international training opportunities and revealed plans for a specialized training program for Heads of Departments in the next phase.
Dr. Amjad Magsi highlighted the transformative role participants could play in fostering institutional growth and positive change within PU.
Earlier, Dr. Sania Malik presented an overview of both programs, detailing their scope, modules, and outcomes. She acknowledged NAHE’s grant of PKR 3.9 million, which enabled the successful execution of the initiatives, and noted the strong appreciation expressed by resource persons for the participants’ performance. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, marking the completion of the programs.
Also present were Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Prof Dr Rehan Sheikh, Director ORIC Dr Aqil Inam, Director IAS Dr Kashif Rathore, Deputy Director NAHE Muhammad Muneeb, and Resident Auditor Rai Hassan Rauf.
