Islamabad, February 16, 2026 — Pakistan’s Federal Government officially kicked off a massive infrastructure project in Islamabad’s F-14 and F-15 sectors on Monday, marking a significant step toward addressing the capital’s housing shortage for government employees.

Federal Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada performed the groundbreaking ceremony, launching development works that will create 6,800 residential plots across the two sectors at a cost of PKR 28.2 billion (approximately $100 million).
The project, which has been awaiting implementation since 2015, will finally fulfill the decade-long hopes of approximately 11,000 families who received plot allotments under the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) scheme.
The ambitious development, awarded to the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) under a PKR 19.58 billion contract, will cover 10,875 kanals (approximately 1,359 acres) of land. Sector F-14 will house 4,825 plots ranging from Category I to Category III, while Sector F-15 will accommodate 1,975 plots of various categories.
The project promises world-class amenities including paved roads, modern sewerage systems, water supply, underground electricity networks, street lighting, gas connections, and telecommunications infrastructure. Plans also include parks, educational facilities, and social amenities designed to create a sustainable residential community.
Government Commitment
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Pirzada emphasized the government’s dedication to completing public housing projects on schedule. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, special attention is being given to housing projects,” he stated, noting that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to its promises.
Federal Secretary for Housing Muhammad Mahmood assured landowners of fair compensation and urged allottees to make timely payments, warning that defaulters risk plot cancellation under existing regulations. He emphasized that the facilitation office would remain open to address concerns.
FGEHA Director General Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal called the occasion “a golden chapter” in the institution’s history, praising the legal team and officers for their dedication. He assured transparency throughout the allotment and development process.
Timeline and Completion
Following final approval from the Departmental Working Party in October 2025, all legal and administrative procedures have been completed. Officials indicated that with timely installment payments from allottees, the project could be completed within two years, providing much-needed quality housing for federal employees and citizens in Pakistan’s capital.
The development is expected to set new standards for residential communities in Islamabad, combining modern infrastructure with environmental sustainability.
