Rawalpindi, Pakistan – A detailed report submitted by the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to the Supreme Court of Pakistan has shed light on the facilities provided to Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, amid ongoing debates about his incarceration conditions.
The three-page report outlines that Khan’s compound in Adiala Jail consists of seven cells, with a 57-foot-long and 14-foot-wide corridor in front of his cell. Adjacent to the compound is a 35×37-foot lawn area where Khan reportedly spends time reading books and newspapers, as well as basking in the sun.
According to the document, the compound has the capacity to house 30 to 35 inmates, but Khan is provided with enhanced amenities under the “better class” category. He has access to exercise equipment, including a cycling machine and other gym facilities, and enjoys natural light and fresh air from morning until evening.
The report details Khan’s dietary provisions, emphasizing a menu that includes fresh fruit juices such as muskmelon and pomegranate in the morning, along with dates, walnuts, honey, coffee, oatmeal, lassi, warm milk, and chia seeds for breakfast.
For lunch, Khan is served desi chicken, mutton, salad, mixed pickle, potato chips, fried eggs, and mixed lentils. In the evening, he consumes a shake made from almonds, raisins, grated coconut, milk, dates, bananas, and apples.
The Superintendent affirmed that Khan is kept in a secure environment, with all necessary measures in place to ensure his safety and well-being.9d91d1beb3bd0ce346
