LAHORE: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote people-friendly governance and improve facilities at religious places, the Auqaf Department has made comprehensive arrangements to provide maximum facilities for Muslims attending Iftar gatherings at shrines across the province.
This was stated by Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, while interacting with devotees at Iftar time at the shrine of Data Darbar.
Dr. Bhutta said that for the first time in the history of the Auqaf Department Punjab, the Secretary/Chief Administrator personally visited Data Darbar at Iftar time, sat among the devotees, and shared Aftari with the public. He noted that the initiative reflects the directions of Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman for senior management to directly engage with citizens to ensure transparent, efficient, and effective service delivery at religious places throughout the province.
During his visit, Dr. Bhutta reviewed the arrangements at various Iftar camps, toured the mosque premises, and inquired from devotees about the quality and management of Aftari. He directed the shrine administration to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided in an organized, transparent, and respectful manner.
Devotees and members of the public appreciated his participation and welcomed the presence of senior departmental officials among the people. They expressed hope that such direct monitoring would help ensure that arrangements are properly implemented and maintained for the comfort and facilitation of visitors at the shrine.
