LAHORE (International News): Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari launched a sharp attack on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday, stating that the KP administration has failed to even announce a Ramazan relief package for its citizens, as the ruling PTI remains preoccupied with the personal affairs of party founder Imran Khan — including his eyesight, dental health, and prison comforts.
Addressing the media, Bukhari said that while Punjab’s Ramazan Nigheban Package was being successfully distributed to deserving families across the province through a transparent survey-based system, the KP government had shown no urgency in providing similar relief to its people during the holy month.
She further alleged that last year, KP’s Ramazan package was not distributed on merit but was instead handed out based on lists provided by PTI’s own MNAs and MPAs, turning a public welfare initiative into a tool for political patronage and favoritism.
In contrast, she highlighted that Punjab had registered 4.2 million families through a formal survey, ensuring that aid reaches every deserving household at their doorstep without political interference.
Bukhari’s remarks reflect the deepening political rivalry between the PML-N-led Punjab government and the PTI-led KP administration, with both sides trading accusations as the month of Ramazan begins.
