LAHORE: The Beaconhouse School System successfully hosted its flagship Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, bringing together students from six countries including Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and the UAE.
Held under the theme “Global Connections for Common Goals,” the two-day convention in Kuala Lumpur served as a dynamic international platform for collaboration, competition, and cross-cultural exchange. The event reflected the growing global footprint of the Beaconhouse network and encouraged students to think beyond borders.
Participants engaged in wide-ranging discussions on climate responsibility, digital equity, and cultural understanding, emphasizing cooperation across disciplines and nationalities. Students showcased their talents and teamwork across four major arenas: Sports, Creative, Knowledge, and Gaming.
A key highlight of this year’s convention was the introduction of debating, which added a strong intellectual dimension to the event. Another major feature, SparkTank@BISC, translated the convention’s theme into practical action. Prior to the event, students from all six countries participated in four mentoring sessions led by Beaconhouse-Yamsaard Thailand. Cross-border teams developed entrepreneurial ventures virtually before meeting for the first time in Kuala Lumpur, where they finalized and pitched their ideas to a panel of distinguished judges.
The competition remained intense throughout the convention. Pakistan emerged as the Overall BISC Champion 2026, while Malaysia secured the runner-up position. The Philippines retained the prestigious BISC Icon title for the third consecutive year, demonstrating consistent excellence across the convention’s competitive pillars.
In sporting events, particularly swimming, multiple records were broken in both girls’ and boys’ categories, highlighting the exceptional preparation and performance of participants.
Now in its tenth year, BISC continues to strengthen international engagement among students, fostering excellence, collaboration, and lifelong global connections.
