LAHORE: Lahore Police arrested 101 suspects during the past 48 hours as part of an intensified crackdown against one-wheeling and illegal street racing in the provincial capital.
According to a police spokesperson, 78 cases were registered at various police stations during the operation. With the latest arrests, the total number of one-wheelers apprehended this year has reached 335, while 312 cases have been registered in connection with such offences.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, directed officers to further expedite action against individuals involved in racing and one-wheeling, stressing that no leniency will be shown.
He ordered the establishment of special pickets on major roads across Lahore and enhanced patrolling to curb the dangerous practice. The CCPO also instructed the Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit teams to closely monitor previously identified offenders and ensure immediate legal action in case of violations.
Bilal Kamyana urged young people to refrain from one-wheeling, racing, and illegal modifications to motorcycles, warning that such activities pose serious risks not only to participants but also to other road users.
He further stated that legal action would also be taken against individuals seen performing wheelies in videos circulating on social media. Citizens have been encouraged to report incidents of one-wheeling and racing via the police helpline 15 to facilitate swift action.
