Islamabad,
Britain has introduced a new digital e-visa system for Pakistani travellers, replacing the traditional passport sticker with an electronic confirmation sent via email. British High Commissioner Jane Marriott confirmed the development, marking a significant shift in the UK’s visa process for Pakistani nationals.
Under the new system, approved applicants will no longer receive a physical sticker in their passport. Instead, visa confirmation will be issued digitally and linked to the traveller’s passport number, which can be verified electronically at the point of entry.
The High Commissioner said the new system aims to make the visa process simpler, faster, and more secure for Pakistani travellers. She added that travellers should ensure their email details are accurately registered during the application process to avoid any inconvenience at the border.
The move brings the UK’s visa process in line with modern digital standards and is expected to reduce processing delays significantly.
