Islamabad — A hearing on the suspension of sentence in the £190 million case against PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi has been scheduled for March 11, according to legal sources.
Speaking to media, PTI’s counsel Barrister Salman Safdar stated that Imran Khan is currently facing an eye ailment, adding to the difficulties he is experiencing during his incarceration. He also pointed out that Bushra Bibi is a woman, urging the court to take her status into due consideration during legal proceedings.
It may be recalled that both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were convicted in the £190 million corruption case. Their legal team has filed a petition seeking suspension of the sentence, which will now be taken up by the court on March 11.
The development is being closely watched by PTI supporters and legal observers, as the outcome of the hearing could have significant implications for the ongoing legal battles surrounding Pakistan’s former prime minister.
