LAHORE: On the special directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Chairman Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority (PSBA) Muhammad Afzal Khokhar conducted detailed visits to Ramzan Relief (Nigehban) Bazaars in Pattoki, Chunian, Okara, Sahiwal, and Khanewal, along with several other districts, to review administrative arrangements and public facilitation measures.
During the visits, the Chairman inspected various stalls and assessed the overall management of the bazaars. He interacted directly with citizens and inquired about the prices and quality of essential commodities being made available to the public. Shoppers expressed satisfaction over the availability of items at subsidized rates and appreciated the government’s relief initiatives during the holy month of Ramzan.
It was observed that 17 essential food items are being sold at prices lower than official market rates at the Sahulat Bazaars. The Chairman also reviewed cleanliness arrangements, security measures, and the Senior Citizen Facilitation Camps established at the sites, commending the performance of the local administration for ensuring smooth operations and maximum relief to the public.
A significant number of citizens are benefiting daily from these Sahulat Bazaars, with hundreds of thousands availing the facility across the province. Currently, 75 Sahulat Bazaars are operational throughout Punjab, serving as a vital source of relief for the common people during Ramzan.
The Chairman directed the concerned authorities to strictly monitor the quality and pricing of essential commodities to ensure full compliance with government directives and uninterrupted relief to the masses.
