MINCHINABAD: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has successfully completed its large-scale Winterization Initiative in Pakistan, distributing 22,000 winter kits to vulnerable communities under its annual winter support program.
Under the humanitarian initiative, winter kits were distributed across 28 of the coldest and snow-bound districts of the country. The assistance targeted regions severely affected by harsh winter conditions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as well as selected areas of Punjab and Sindh that experience low temperatures during the winter season.
Each winter kit included two polyester quilts, warm shawls for men and women, and winter clothing for both children and adults. The assistance helped families cope with extreme weather conditions and reduced winter-related vulnerabilities.
The project was implemented in close coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority, the State Disaster Management Authority, local administrations, and the Hayat Foundation to ensure transparency, coordination, and effective delivery of assistance.
Through this coordinated effort, the initiative benefited more than 151,236 individuals across Pakistan. The program reaffirms KSrelief’s continued commitment to alleviating winter-related hardships and improving the well-being of vulnerable populations while strengthening humanitarian cooperation between the Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
