KASUR: A review meeting concerning the rental properties of the Municipal Committee (MC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asif Raza, with participation from Assistant Commissioner Kasur Ghulam Fatima, Secretary RTA, and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, officials provided a detailed briefing on shops, plazas, and other rental properties owned by the MC. It was noted that income generated from these properties plays a significant role in the performance of local bodies and funding of development activities in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that a complete record of all rented properties be compiled immediately, and recovery action should be taken against tenants with outstanding dues. He emphasized that timely collection of rent from government properties benefits the government treasury and provides additional resources for development projects.
DC Raza also instructed that regular monitoring of all municipal committee properties be carried out and that new rents should be issued transparently wherever necessary. He underlined the need for complete transparency in the use and tenancy of government properties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive strategy to increase MC income and submit a report on the matter promptly.
