ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – March 15, 2026
Pakistan’s armed forces have carried out fresh precision strikes under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, destroying a tunnel and several high-value terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, military and security sources confirmed on Saturday.
In a separate action along the Pak-Afghan border in the Chitral sector, Pakistani troops completely demolished the Afghan Taliban’s Badini (Baddini) checkpost using small arms, heavy weapons and quadcopters.
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) updated the latest casualty figures from the ongoing operation:
684 Afghan Taliban operatives killed
912 injured
252 Taliban checkposts destroyed
44 checkposts captured by Pakistani forces
“These targets were being used by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij for cross-border terrorism against Pakistan,” a senior security official said. The strikes were conducted in response to repeated unprovoked attacks and infiltration attempts from Afghan soil.
Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, launched earlier this year, continues with coordinated air and ground actions. Pakistani forces have so far targeted Taliban infrastructure including oil storage facilities, ammunition dumps and brigade headquarters in Kandahar, as well as multiple forward posts along the Durand Line.
No Pakistani casualties were reported in the latest actions. The operation is expected to continue until all strategic objectives are achieved and the threat of cross-border terrorism is neutralised.
The development comes amid heightened tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, with Pakistan repeatedly warning the Afghan Taliban regime to stop using its territory as a launchpad for attacks inside Pakistan.
