LAHORE: Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal distributed Eid gifts among children suffering from Thalassemia and other blood disorders undergoing treatment at Lahore General Hospital.
The ceremony was attended by Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, Prof. Muhammad Shahid, Prof. Hassan Suleman Malik, Dr. Abdul Aziz, along with doctors, nursing staff, and a large number of parents.
Addressing the event, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal said that children are a precious asset and represent the promise of a brighter future. He emphasized that ensuring their health and happiness is a shared responsibility, adding that alongside quality medical care, such initiatives aim to include these children in Eid al-Fitr celebrations so they do not feel isolated.
Prof. Muhammad Shahid and MS Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain highlighted that, under the directives of the Government of Punjab, particularly Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the best possible medical facilities are being provided to children suffering from thalassemia and blood disorders by utilizing all available resources.
Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that special care, timely provision of blood, and modern medical facilities are being ensured for thalassemia patients at LGH to improve and safeguard their lives.
During the ceremony, Eid gifts were distributed among the children, bringing smiles to their faces. Parents expressed gratitude and appreciated the hospital administration’s compassionate efforts, noting that such initiatives uplift children’s morale and allow them to experience joy despite their illness.
The hospital administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such welfare initiatives for the well-being of patients in the future.
