LAHORE: In a notable achievement for Pakistan’s academic community, a faculty member from University of the Punjab has been selected to participate in a fully funded international innovation event in Paris.
Lecturer Hafiz Fawad Ali of the Hailey College of Commerce has been chosen for the prestigious “EELISA One Night to Innovate” event and has also been awarded a competitive grant of €1,000 to support his participation.
The event, organized by the EELISA European University Alliance, brings together leading educators, students, and innovators from around the world for an intensive overnight challenge aimed at designing impactful solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants collaborate in teams to develop innovative ideas, which are then evaluated by expert juries with support from prominent international partners.

His participation not only underscores individual excellence but also signals the increasing focus on sustainability-driven research and entrepreneurial thinking within Pakistan’s higher education sector.
