Tehran, March 27, 2026: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the instability in the Strait of Hormuz is a consequence of aggression and violations of international law by the United States and Israel.
According to Iranian media, a telephonic conversation took place between Abbas Araghchi and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, during which regional developments were discussed.
During the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister asserted that stopping vessels linked to hostile parties and their allies is Iran’s legal right as a coastal state.
He further noted that Iranian authorities are fully aware of their responsibilities in ensuring maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.
Abbas Araghchi added that necessary measures have already been taken to maintain security and stability in the vital waterway.
