Lahore: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth, to review the two-week progress of the ongoing plantation drive along the Lahore Ring Road.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Communication and Works Sohail Ashraf, Chairman Ring Road Authority Safiullah Gondal, the Additional Secretary, and other senior officials.
During the briefing, it was informed that a comprehensive survey for plantation along the Lahore Ring Road has been completed, and plantation activities are progressing at a rapid pace. So far, more than 500 trees, each measuring 12 to 15 feet in height, have been planted, along with 60 palm trees.
In addition, over 800 planters have been developed on the Abdul Ghaffar side to further enhance the beauty of the Ring Road.
Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth directed the authorities to further accelerate the plantation drive and stressed that all possible measures should be taken to beautify the Ring Road. He noted that plantation efforts would not only improve the aesthetic appeal of the road but also contribute positively to the environment.
The meeting also reviewed future plans for the maintenance of plantations, with the aim of transforming the Lahore Ring Road into a prominent, environmentally friendly, and visually appealing landmark of the city.
