Karachi, April 1, 2026: In a major drive to enforce fire safety regulations, the Karachi district administration has sealed around 200 shops in the busy Hashoo Centre, along with a mobile phone market in Landhi and a commercial plaza on Tariq Road.
Assistant Commissioner Saddar Ghazanfar Pardakht sealed 200 shops in Hashoo Centre for failing to meet fire safety requirements. Assistant Commissioner Landhi Awan Abbas sealed a mobile market, while Assistant Commissioner Ferozabad Juwairia Ashraf sealed the commercial plaza on Tariq Road.
The police and district administration have made it clear that no compromise will be made on the protection of human lives. Deputy Commissioners have submitted reports to the Commissioner Karachi, stating that all shops and commercial buildings which failed to comply with fire safety laws despite warnings have been sealed.
Officials said the crackdown will continue across the city to prevent any loss of life in case of fire incidents, emphasizing strict enforcement of safety standards in commercial areas.
