Islamabad/Beijing, April 1, 2026: In trilateral talks mediated by China, Pakistan has strongly demanded that Afghanistan immediately dismantle safe havens of terrorists (khawarij) operating from its soil.
The meeting was led by Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary, while a six-member delegation from the Afghan Taliban also participated. Discussions focused on cross-border terrorism, border security, and regional stability.
The Pakistani side reiterated that Afghan territory must not be used for launching attacks against Pakistan and called for the complete elimination of terrorist sanctuaries inside Afghanistan.
The three countries — Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China — agreed to continue the trilateral dialogue process to ease tensions and promote peace in the region. China played a key mediating role, urging both sides to resolve differences through sustained diplomatic engagement.
These talks come amid ongoing security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with Islamabad pressing Kabul to take concrete action against militant groups targeting Pakistani interests.
