Rawalpindi (April 2, 2026) — Pakistan’s security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, eliminating eight terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the ISPR press release, the movement of a group of “Khwarij” affiliated with the Indian proxy “Fitna al Khwarij” was detected on April 1. Security forces responded swiftly with precise engagement, resulting in the deaths of all eight terrorists.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants. Area sanitization is currently underway.
The ISPR statement described the terrorists as belonging to an Indian-backed network linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The operation is part of the ongoing national counter-terrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam” aimed at eradicating terrorism from the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for their swift and effective action against terrorism.
This latest success underscores Pakistan’s firm resolve to counter cross-border terrorism and neutralize elements sponsored by hostile forces seeking to destabilize the region.
