ISLAMABAD: Police in Pakistan’s capital have intensified operations against criminal elements, arresting 13 suspects including five proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, officials said.
According to police, coordinated raids were conducted across multiple precincts—Margalla, Golra, Shams Colony, Khanna, and Lohi Bher—resulting in the recovery of 343 grams of methamphetamine (“ice”), 36 bottles of liquor, and four pistols with ammunition. Cases have been registered and further investigations are underway.

The crackdown follows special directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of an ongoing campaign to curb crime and apprehend fugitives. Authorities reiterated that ensuring the safety of citizens remains a top priority, warning that no disruption to public peace will be tolerated.
Separately, a formal ceremony was held at Police Lines Headquarters to honor the retirement of Inspector Ajmal Nawaz and Constable Muhammad Shafiq. SSP Counter Terrorism Department Saud Khan praised their services and presented commemorative shields.
In a series of high-level meetings chaired by the IGP, officials reviewed security arrangements, VIP protection protocols, patrol systems, and emergency response mechanisms. Officers were directed to further enhance operational readiness and intensify indiscriminate action against criminal networks.
“Zero tolerance for crime remains our policy. There will be no compromise on peace,” the IGP stated.
